Let’s pretend you’re a thirty-something professional woman who likes reading smart, racy books. And let’s say you’re in a book store or perusing Amazon on your iPhone 6 and you come across this book. Would you pick it up and read the back cover? (Or scroll down to read more, whatever).
Of course there are a dozen little things I’d like to change, especially my name. I mean, I don’t want to change my name to like, Ingird Hoover or something, I mean I just don’t like the way it looks here. But that’s the least important part. In the original design there was no woman and the cage image was sourced from an old catalogue drawing. It was very dark but not at all sexy. This version better represents what the story is about. And hey, there’s a naked women in it, what’s not to love?
Just to be sure the story lines up with the cover, here’s the synopsis.
AKA: What the heck is this story about?
When a woman takes her own life under the watchful eye of her owner, Gareth Renaut, he retreats even deeper into himself and his isolated, woodland hideaway. Disfigured in a work accident a decade before, Gareth has crafted a quiet yet successful life with the help of his childhood friend, Louis. But when Louis drags him back into the real world for just one evening, Gareth stumbles into a love triangle with two beautiful women who threaten to destroy the walls he has carefully built and throw his life off-course.
[FYI – there is a cage in the book so that’s not some random, cool thing I slapped on the cover.]
The story is currently nearing the end of a major editing stage and will be ready for beta readers in a week or so. If you’d like to read this before anyone else does and cut it apart with constructive criticism, stay tuned!
